A Prayer Before Performing Service
In Honor of Pope Benedict XVI

O God, giver of every good blessing,

Be with me as I perform community service this day to honor Pope Benedict’s birthday.

Give him wisdom and strength to lead the Catholic Church.

Let the service project I undertake remind me that I am a follower of Jesus Christ, who said, “Whatever you do to another, you do to me.”

Help me to grow in faith as I help another person and improve my community.

Amen.
